This service was for the $125 Big Deal reconditioning package: Replace all rollers with new quiet glide nylon rollers, Lubricate all hinges, bearings, springs, and opener rail, Check and adjust spring tension to balance door properly, Check and adjust tracks for perfect spacing, Check all hinges and tighten where needed, Check lift cables for wear, Check and adjust safety pressures of opener to make sure it reverses on contact & Check and adjust infrared sensors for proper alignment.
After careful analysis of our door's operation and a thorough inspection, technician noticed several missing screws and bolts. All missing items were replaced for a nominal $5 charge. Technician explained that our oversize door would require 2 additional rollers at a cost of $9 each. Total additional charges plus tax were $25.19.
This was an EXCELLENT service! Rob arrived on time and with a great attitude. He reviewed our door, explaining the noise issues and identifying problems. He reviewed what was included in the Big Deal and explained that my oversize door would require 2 additional rollers. After his work was completed, he carefully reviewed his findings. When the builder installed our door nearly 8 years ago, several screws and bolts were never installed. Thus, our use of the door was a dangerous accident waiting to happen.
The best part of this purchase is our new, QUIET, safe door. I confidently and enthusiastically endorse Garage Door Specialists!

We had an older garage door that semi-collapsed on a Friday morning. It was an old, heavy 2-car garage door that had collapsed on one side and was hanging dangerously. Rob and Mike came out that afternoon, and were able to temporarily put the door back in place as a temporary fix. Rob then explained that the door and opener (and related hardware) were all very old, and we would be better off replacing it instead of just trying to fix it. Rob gave me some literature and pricing and took the time to go over the options with me. We ended up purchasing a new garage door and a new opener. Mike came out to put the new one in, and did a great job even though there were some difficulties that made it a tricky installation. He also took the time to explain all the features of the new opener (how to lock it when we were on vacation, how to program and use the keypad, etc). The new door looks great and is much quieter than the old one. Rob and Mike were both very knowledgeable and professional and were a pleasure to work with.

I took advantage of the "Big Deal" on Angie's List that was for routine maintenance and new, quiet nylon guide wheels for $125.00. Our bedroom is above the garage so you can hear the garage loud as day when it opens/closes. I called GDS the morning I bought the deal and they scheduled me for the following morning. The tech came during the promised appt. window. I was not home, but my wife remarked how nice and professional the technician was and he even found one of the screws holding the garage up was tied into the drywall and not the joists -- which he fixed for free! It's refreshing when individuals/companies go that extra mile. It was my first experience with GDS and if I need any garage work again -- they would be the first ones I call. Another great Angie's List experience!

I bought the coupon special from Angies list for garage door maintenance. I called for an appointment and the lady handling the phones couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. I made the appointment and Rob came out right on time. He took the time to explain everything and more about the science of garage door maintenance, performed the "tune up" on my three doors and cleaned up. This outfit is very professional and I will use them again for other services as well such as a replacement front entrance door.

The service was great and the guy was there on time. He noticed that the doorframe wasn't attached to the joist; it was just attached to the plasterboard so it was loose and dangerous. He fixed that. He also gave me an estimate for the repairs if I decide to do them. I would recommend them and I would use them again. His price was five star and very reasonable.

We hired Garage Door Specialists to install one 16 x 8 and one 9 x 8 Clopay Gallery garage door along with two Liftmaster Premium garage door openers. We opted to replace our 15-year old construction-grade doors that were original to the house for ones that had greater thermal properties and were more attractive and better functioning.
Working with Garage Door Specialists has been a rare treat. It is not often that you find a business that is so customer-focused. I loved the fact that Garage Door Specialists has a showroom where you can see the products they offer firsthand. Seeing door options in person was much better than trying to select something from a brochure. Rob Greenberg was very knowledge about the products he offered and was a great resource in helping me decide what door, style, color, etc. to choose. Once the order was placed, the doors came in as scheduled and were installed just in time to take advantage of the energy tax credit! The installers were prompt, courteous and did a great job on a particularly cold day. Two months later when an accident occurred with one of the doors, Rob came out the same day to fix it. I can't think of many companies who value their customers more than Garage Door Specialists!

Very friendly and professional. Clearly understood our needs with not wanting to replace the whole door. Checked their own warehouse for similar castoffs but had to order new panel in the end. Panel arrived much quicker than expected and was fitted next day. Door now super smooth. From Rob who came out to us to the two ladies I spoke to on the phone (Pam and Pat?), everyone was professional, courteous, and pleasant. I had both my garage door and opener replaced as well as our front door and sidelights. The whole experience beginning with our visit to the showroom was excellent. Pam showed us various options for both the garage door and our front entry door and sidelight units. We opted for top of the line products from Clopay for both as well as a Liftmaster Professional garage door opener and keyless entry. Rob came out to our home along with a carpenter that very afternoon to measure for both items. He then promptly emailed me a quote. We had had a previous quote for the front door from another provider. After comparing the quotes and checking on both through Angie's list and the BBB, we decided to go with Rob. It took about a month for the custom orders to arrive from the manufacturer and 2 crews came out to install them on the same day. Both the carpenters who installed the front door unit and installers for the garage door completed the job the same day. The quality of the installations were outstanding and they completely cleaned up everything afterwards. We have received many compliments on both from neighbors and family. I would give them my highest recommendation.

I called Garage Door Specialists because our double car garage door was making a lot of unusual noises. It is a very heavy custom wood door and needs regular maintenance. An appointment was made for the next day and Rob, the service technician called before he arrived to let me know he would be here in about 15 minutes. Rob and Mike arrived on time and introduced themselves. Before starting the work, Rob discussed with me a low cost DIY fix to best deal with the condensation that forms on the garage door windows in the winter. After they finished the tune-up and maintenance, Rob went over everything that they had done and made some recommendations for me to consider in the future to further strengthen the tracks of the 16x8 door. Rob then offered to program our key pad for the large door that had never been programmed. Rob and Mike were very friendly, professional and did a great job! It was a pleasure working with Garage Door Specialists from beginning to end.

We have a house that was built in the 1950's, the garage door is original--heavy solid wood--squirrls & other critters had eaten through the bottom & as a result it was impossible to keep them out. Years ago we had a problem with the opener, we picked Garage Door Specialists out of the yellow pages for service. Then came out right away & fixed the problem. We decided to give them another try when we decided to get a new door. Bottom line--great service & price.
